![]() ![]() The timing on the tides can play a big role in that strategy. Sometimes a captain will put all his hope in one or two spots, waiting for the bite to start, because he has done well there recently, and he believes the fish are still there, just not biting yet. Your captain should have done a much better job communicating with you, and it sounds like he could have tried a little harder, all of which earns another apology. Most times that goes very well, but not always. We can only do our best, with the different conditions each day, or each trip, to try to connect you with the fish. We certainly do not expect you to check the tide charts, that was admittedly a dumb statement by your captain. As a fisherman, you certainly realize that you can't make the fish bite, and sometimes weather, tides, temperature, turbidity, the moon, the barometer, and probably a few other things can all make a difference in how the fish behave, and cooperate. We have many guests that have been with us for over 3 generations. ![]() That's actually pretty amazing, especially considering a lot of our guests have limited, very little, or no experience. We catch fish 99% of the time, and bring home keepers about 90 percent of the time. On this boat, we offer three trips a day, averaging 80 trips per month, year round. Just you so know, we have been operation since 1984, and the Sunshine Express has operated since day one. I would have gladly comped your trip if I had known prior to you popping out a one star review, and calling us shady, and a rip off. Everyone did their job, your message was relayed, unfortunately I was out with an illness, and isolating for several days past that time. Dear Sir, I'd like to start off with an apology for not responding to your original message regarding your experience. ![]()
